2024 Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek Rules:

  • Junior Sprint Rules

  • Junior Sprint Format: Pill draw for heats. Feature will either be lined up heads up from heat finish or by redraw. TBD.

  • A driver competing in the Junior Sprint division may ONLY run in the Junior Sprint division for the week. Meaning, a driver CAN NOT compete in both the 600 class and Junior Sprint class during the week.

  • Format: 

    Time Trials 

    • No more than $30 Entry fee (except final event)

    • Pill draw for time trial positions 

    • If more than 32 cars, split into two flights 

    • Split down the middle by pill draw for flight A and B 

    • If a driver misses their spot or does not complete a lap, they get one lap at the end 

    • IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE A CHARGED AND WORKING TRANSPONDER 

    • IF your transponder does not register during hot laps, and still does not register for time trials, driver will be given no time. (If driver does not change transponders after warning).

    • Driver may change transponder and return for ONE lap AT THE END OF THEIR FLIGHT (Note, This applies to any driver who switches a transponder after it does not read on their opening lap. IF the transponder falls off or is damaged, they will be allowed one lap at the end of the flight).

    • Any driver who jumps ahead by ANY number of positions in Time Trials will be penalized to the end of the results with NO POINTS awarded. It is YOUR responsibility to know what cars you are supposed to time trial with.  (special circumstances like car failures, drop outs etc).

    • Driver may advance spots if a car or cars fail to produce for time trial group. This is the only exception. 

    • If a driver weighs in light at the scales they will be awarded ZERO points for time trials, heat race, or qualifier.

    Heats: 

    • Heat races will be 8 or 10 laps depending on venue 

    • Heat races will have an inversion of 6 cars based off of time 

    • Heats will be awarded passing and finishing points 

    • Heats will be double file restarts until half way 

    • If a driver suffers two unassisted spins that lead to a caution, and is involved in a third caution of any kind they will be removed from the speedway surface

    • Two attempts at a clean start will be utilized. IF the front row fails again, they will be swapped entirely with row two.

    • Back to back cautions on a double file restart will lead to a single file restart

    A Main/B/C Main:

    • Time Trial and Heat points will be combined to determine A-Main and B-Main lineup. Ties will be broken by finishing position in the Heat. (2nd tie breaker will be the Time Trial results) 

    • Top 18 in points will qualify for the A-Main, 19+ in points will go to the B-Main(s)

    • 26 car maximum starting field

    • B-Mains will be 10 or 12 laps (12 or more cars attempt = 12 laps) *depending on time or officials discretion 

    • B Mains and Qualifiers may also carry a 10 minute time limit depending on venue and available time if deemed necessary  

    •  A-Main will be 30 laps (excluding finale events) 

    • Qualifiers will be used at the championship event of Speedweek.

    Rules: 

    All track safety rules apply

    U6SA RR tire is mandatory

    No tire treatment, no doping of any kind. One block of the tire must be left untouched by siping or grooving.

    RR and LR MUST be Hoosier

    2024 U6SA FUEL PUMP RELAY’S ARE REQUIRED!!

  • NO TIRE DOPING

    IF a driver is found to have tire doped, they will lose all points for the night/week and be assessed payment fees for tire test. In addition to possible re-payment of monies earned for the night.

    Tire doping guilty party will also lose all points for the week 

    Teams may be tested at RANDOM during the night

    Official will tell team which block they want tested and team must provide sample of said block 

  • If a driver is found to have the wrong tire on or the tire punches soft, the driver will be given the opportunity to change the tire before that race and will start in the rear with no passing points. If this happens a second time to the same driver, they will be disqualified from that race. If it happens a third time, they will be prohibited from competing in the rest of speedweek for the year.

  • Tire must durometer 50 before and after an event.

  • No Wet grinding of tires with any products is permitted

  • Failure to allow Speedweek official to take tire sample, or refusal of sample will be taken as an admission of altering and the offending driver and team will be disqualified from the event.

    U6SA or A class engine rules.

    U6SA Rev Limit and charging system rules are still in place

    Any motorcycle ignition system can be used on any engine

    Any ignition system is legal for PA Speedweek, Including PE3, as well as aftermarket coils. Rev limit is

  • 16.100 (16.150 max tolerance) FIRM 06 and newer

  • 14.800 older 636cc engines

    You may run an outlaw injection system on a Stock engine, NO OUTLAW ENGINES permitted. 

    Wingless all week

    Weight Rule 775 pounds car and driver after the race.

    RACECEIVERS MANDATORY AT ALL TIMES ON TRACK

    Front Bumper cannot be 8” past the front frame rail

    Procedures/Policies 

    NO Provisionals will be awarded at any point during the week 

    Light on weight will result in loss of points for TT, Heat race, feature, and Last place awarding for A Mains. 

    Quick time from time trials will be teched for each flight (REV Check)

    Top three from each night of feature action will also be teched (Unless otherwise changed). 

    Rev check will be completed for each nights feature winner and possibly top three

    A driver will be removed from the speedway during competition if they are missing one or both of a front and rear bumper, and or a right or left side nerf bar during competition.

    IF a driver has a flat tire of any kind aside from a left front they will be removed from the speedway 

    If a driver has a left front flat tire they will be allowed to continue to compete so long as the tire is still on the bead of the wheel.

    A back up car may be used by a driver, but for preliminary events ONLY

    Example: If a driver has a failure during hot laps, time trials, or heat race, they may move to a back up car for the next scheduled QUALIFYING EVENT. The driver will start at the rear of the their next qualifying event. (Heat, Qualifier, C main, B Main).

    A driver MAY NOT SWITCH CARS ONCE THEY ARE QUALIFIED to the feature event. 

    Engine changes due to failure will be accepted and allowed. Even for feature events. 

    If a driver is qualified for the feature event and can not start, last place points will be awarded to that driver. *IF a driver chooses to pull their entry from the feature event line up an alternate driver will be added. 

    If a driver retaliates under caution they will be sent to the rear of the field, with the possibility of being sent off the speedway for a DQ. 

    Altercations with drivers in the pit area may result in penalties for the night and remaining nights and or disqualification for the night. 

    Physical abuse or contact with ANY official is INEXCUSABLE and will not be tolerated. Driver will be told to leave speedway grounds and will be banned from competition within the series without payout. 

     Rain Out Policy:

  • If a rain out occurs after Time Trials, the feature purse will be split and paid out to each flight of time trials as half of the original purse (50 Show up Points)

  • If a rain out occurs after all heat races are complete, the purse will be paid out to the top 26 in points between time trials and heats (50 Show Up Points)

  • If the feature is rained out before halfway, the purse will be paid out as a completed event. However, speedweek points will not be paid. Only 50 show up points.

  • If the feature is rained out AFTER the halfway point, the race will be deemed official. Full purse and points will be paid as usual.

  • All of the above are dependent upon track policies and procedures.

    Points and Points drop

  • A drivers best SIX nights of speedweek will be used for points

  • A driver can ONLY DROP a night if they have competed in ALL SEVEN nights of Speedweek

  • If there is a rainout, we will take points from the remaining nights completed.

  • The finale at Lanco can NOT be a drivers dropped race unless it is a drivers worst night of the week and they have competed in all SEVEN nights.
